Little Wren Cooking, the School, Lisa James, are all terms used through these Terms & Conditions to refer to Lisa James trading as Little Wren Cooking.
Booking Terms and Conditions
- Places are booked on a first-come-first-served basis upon receipt of payment. All payments must be made in full at the time of booking. For tailored events (such as cupcake decorating parties, “Tailored Events”), a deposit of 50% is due at the time of booking with the remainder of the payment due by 3 weeks before the Tailored Event. By booking on any of Little Wren Cooking’s classes, you agree to abide by our terms and conditions.
- On booking and paying for a class(es) you will receive a booking and payment confirmation by email.
- Please let Little Wren Cooking know of any change of contact details so that you can receive the most up to date information.
- The menus on the website and other forms of social media are subject to change if ingredients are not available.
- Occasionally we may have to cancel or postpone a class due to unavoidable circumstances or if a class is undersubscribed. In such a case, we will notify all confirmed attendees as soon as possible and offer the option to reschedule to another date so you don’t miss out or provide full refunds.
- It is your responsibility to notify Little Wren Cooking of any allergies or disabilities, including for any of the participants of a Tailored Event, before attending any class.
- Your details and information will not be passed to any third party (except where we are required to do so by law).
Refunds/Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations by participants of more than 15 days’ notice prior to the booked class are subject to a 10% fee. Bookings are however, freely transferable to another person for the same class so you are welcome to send someone else in your place. Please note however, that the age requirements for classes will need to be adhered to.
- For a cancellation made within 14 days’ notice of the booked class, the full amount of the class will be forfeited. - For a cancellation of a Tailored Event more than 3 weeks before the Tailored Event by the client, the deposit less a 10% fee is refunded or the possibility to reschedule to another date will be offered so you don’t miss out. Cancellation of a tailored event within 3 weeks, but not less than 1 week, of the scheduled event will incur a 35% fee. Cancellations of less than 1 week of the scheduled event will incur a 75% fee.
- Little Wren Cooking reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a class for reasons concerning Little Wren Cooking. If a class has been cancelled due to low attendance, sickness or any other matter regarding Little Wren Cooking, all students will be notified with the option to reschedule to another date, or full refunds provided.
Health & Safety
- All participants should wear appropriate footwear with non-slip soles and covered toes. We recommend wearing sensible clothing and we are not liable to any damage that may happen to clothing. Long hair must be tied back in the food preparation areas. We would recommend not wearing anything too precious – we suggest you bring an apron as the classes are designed to be fun and may get messy! Please do not wear loose or baggy sleeves: we don’t want piping bags to get stuck up baggy sleeves or chopped up with food.
- Please arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before your scheduled class (as we will be setting up and preparing), but no later than 5 minutes before a class. Little Wren Cooking will run through safety issues before the class commences and we will make a prompt start so that there is time for all the planned activities to be carried out safely.
- Little Wren Cooking retains the right to refuse a student to attend a class if the instructor feels they are intoxicated or may cause harm to themselves or anyone else attending the scheduled class. Please note that a refund will not be issued for the student’s place.
Liability
- Little Wren Cooking will not accept responsibility for the loss or damage of any personal possessions.
- When participating in a Little Wren Cooking class/event, where by the student/participant will be around or using sharp and potentially dangerous tools suitable to a kitchen environment, the student, his/her Parent or Guardian releases, indemnifies and excludes Lisa James, Little Wren Cooking and its agents and employees from any and all liability of any kind for any damage or injury incurred while attending or visiting Little Wren Cooking. The student/participant and his/her Parent or Guardian understands these terms and conditions and accepts the inherent risks of a kitchen environment when they make a full payment for a class/dinner/event.
- Where damage/loss of Little Wren Cooking’s property is caused by a student, the student (or his/her Guardian) or function organiser may be held financially responsible. The cost of repairing any damage to walls, doors or other parts of the property or replacement of equipment as a result of inappropriate conduct will be charged to the student (or his/her guardian) or function organiser.
- Should Little Wren Cooking be unable to provide for your class or function due to circumstances beyond the control of Little Wren Cooking, Little Wren Cooking is not responsible for any costs, damages or expenses that you may suffer or incur.
- From time to time Little Wren Cooking may provide links to other websites, products and/or services. This is done for your convenience and is not an endorsement of the other websites, products and/or services and Little Wren Cooking cannot be responsible for those other website, products and/or services.
- For your peace of mind, Little Wren Cooking carries £1 million public liability insurance. A Certificate of Insurance is available for you to inspect should you wish.
Intellectual Property
- All rights, including copyright and intellectual property rights, in and to the Little Wren Cooking website, social media and any printed materials, including all graphics, photographs, text, artwork, logos, trademarks, visual interface, user interface and any computer code are owned by Lisa James t/as Little Wren Cooking. Please only use the content from these materials for your own personal use. Should you wish to use any of the intellectual property please get in touch through iwanttocook@outlook.com. Any unauthorised use may give rise to a claim for damages and/or be a criminal offence.
Data Protection and Privacy Policy
Collection of Data: Your information is only collected for Little Wren Cooking to process registrations and to improve our services (such as not duplicating what the student/ participant is making in the class!) and the way Little Wren Cooking communicates with you.
Little Wren Cooking only collects personal particulars (including, but not limited to, your name, the student/participant’s name, contact details, allergies, purchase history with Little Wren Cooking) when, for example, you:
- Contact Little Wren Cooking with a product or service enquiry;
- Participate in Little Wren Cooking’s contests, surveys and/or other promotional activities;
- Join our classes;
Use of Data: Little Wren Cooking may use your information for the following:
- Processing your booking;
- Planning class schedules (to take into account any allergies or dislikes expressed by you or the student/class participant);
- Responding to your enquiries;
- Informing you about products and services updates including details of upcoming classes with your prior consent;
- Informing you of any changes to Little Wren Cooking’s website, services or goods and products;
- Conduct market research and customer satisfaction surveys;
Disclosure of Data: Little Wren Cooking will not disclose your personal information to any other party other than in accordance with this Privacy Policy and in the following circumstances:
- Where Little Wren Cooking is legally required by law to disclose your personal information;
- To further fraud protection and reduce the risk of fraud;
- In the event that Little Wren Cooking is sold (personal note: I don’t plan on selling Little Wren Cooking – I’m loving planning fun classes and cooking with you all too much!)
Photography: During the classes Little Wren Cooking may take photos of the student/participant participating in the class. Where an individual is recognisable in the photo, Little Wren Cooking will seek your express consent for using the photo on the website, social media, training and/or marketing materials before doing so. Little Wren Cooking will not write or tag an individual’s name on any photo on the website, social media and/or marketing materials. Changes to Data: If at any time you would like to know what data I am holding on you, or wish to make any changes to the data (including where you no longer wish to receive communications from me) please just drop me an email at iwanttocook@outlook.com. As I state in the Booking Form and many of my emails, please let me know of any changes to your contact details and medical information/allergies – I want to provide you with the best and safest service possible!
